The Rochdale Hornets Sporting Foundation were winners of the Diversity in Health and Leisure Award this week at the 2017 Rochdale Diversity Awards.
Community coach Michael Ratu was on hand to pick up the honour and was delighted with the achievement.
“We’re all really proud to have picked up this award,” he commented.
“It’s credit to the hard work everyone has put in and it’s great to see that being noticed too.
“We’ve done some great things in the community and we are looking forward to continuing that and moving to the next level in terms of the programmes we offer.”
Community Manager Alan Kilshaw was also in good spirits as he said: “It’s always great to pick up awards and this is a really special one for us.
“We are always thriving to offer as many sessions and programmes to people of all background and abilities, so to see our hard work rewarded is great.
“We hope this isn’t the last award we pick up and we will continue to work hard in order to ensure we’re doing good things for the Rochdale community.”
